Solar Systems On The Cheap

By Burt Randalls

If you can find wholesale solar panels on the internet it is also important to verify what is involved in receiving your panels. Many times these are delivered by over the road drivers who might very well expect you to unload the truck by yourself upon delivery.

Additionally you want to find out if the panels are out of production, closeouts or simply not the most recent model. Many times you will want to buy replacement panels and this can affect availability. It is also important to verify that appropriate mounting hardware or kits will be readily available.

When you buy solar panels wholesale you are not likely to get the latest solar panel designs or products. The latest products command a premium. Suppliers want to sell the latest products and are therefore keen to shift older products to make room for the new. The older products may not be as technically advanced and may not be as efficient, but as you are buying a panel than produces a specific number of watts, the only downside may be that the latest product produces the same wattage from a slightly smaller panel. Not really a big issue.

The time is ripe to build solar panels for businesses and homes alike getting the best out of your solar energy investment. The demand for the solar energy is on the rise these days. The increased concern about the Global Warming and various widespread forms of pollutions has resulted in growing concern about the alternative source of power.

You've probably seen calculators that have solar cells -- calculators that never need batteries, and in some cases don't even have an off button. As long as you have enough light, they seem to work forever. You may have seen larger solar panels on emergency road signs or call boxes, on buoys, even in parking lots to power lights.

Building your own solar DIY collectors is a breeze and just what you want to take the edge off of those high electric bills. The technology is simple and easy to understand if you have the basics and if not, you can get them here. Tinker your own solar DIY into new savings.

Buying solar panels wholesale does not always insure getting the most up to date products. Many of the high end manufacturers only sell to authorized dealers who they certify personally. It is very unlikely to find the newest panel designs sold as wholesale products. After a product has passed its prime then they are sold in bulk to supply companies who wholesale them to dealers and non-dealers alike.

Many companies that sell solar panels wholesale primarily purchase foreign made products. These are not subject to the same stringent inspections as those made domestically. For this reason it is important to make sure that you recognize the brand name and manufacturer of any solar products that you purchase. Most foreign manufacturers are located in Mexico, Hong Kong or China. - 31812

Information About Solar Roof Tiles

By Lewis Johnson

Proper installation helps to save you energy. Eagle's Energy Saving Roof can help reduce the heat transferred into your attic by almost 50% when compared to a direct nailed asphalt shingle roof. However, Trade key respects the intellectual property, copyright, trademark, trade secret or any other personal or proprietary third party rights and expects the same from others. flexible

These tiles are made of a flexible material so they are easy to apply when doing the roof. There are two major brands that are being used. The tiles are made from a lightweight recyclable plastic that is molded together with a flexible solar cell. While the flexible panel design gathers less energy, it actually reacts to a broader spectrum of light. The tiles themselves are made out of a lightweight recyclable material that is molded together with a flexible panel. The tiles can be networked together to leverage the power of the sun.

And with the built-in blocking diode technology, this charger is designed to protect against battery discharge at night. You can also use this device to maintain the charge on any 12-volt battery for. If an input supply cannot provide enough power to satisfy the requirements of an LT3652 charger, the supply voltage will collapse. A minimum operating supply voltage can thus be programmed by monitoring the supply through a resistor divider, such that the desired minimum voltage corresponds to 2.7V at the VIN_REG pin. The responsiveness of the cells would allow them to charge even indoors, an important consideration since portable electronics are not typically exposed to sunlight.

The tiles interlock and look very similar to regular concrete tiles and last just as long if not longer. Each tile?s exposed surface is covered in photovoltaic cells so an entire roof can generate power. In addition, the modules interlock and the gaps between the modules are covered by a proprietary black anodized aluminum capping rail. Sun tech Just Roof looks and acts just like standard roofing materials.

Electrons are excited by the light and move through the silicon. This is known as the photovoltaic effect and results in direct current (DC) electricity. Electrolyte is absorbed when batteries are much discharged. If you add water at this time, and then recharge the battery, electrolyte will overflow and make a mess.

The solar modules lay flat on the rooftop, interlocking smoothly with standard roof tiles for a smooth look. They are compatible with most shapes and sizes of roof tiles used in new residential construction, with one module replacing five standard concrete tiles.

Run wires out through holes in the box. It's best to cover the unit with Plexiglas. Running a household is financially difficult for everyone these days. With fluctuating gas prices, interest rates and rising unemployment rates everyone is waiting for the second shoe to drop, alternative energy resources are becoming a viable option for most homeowners.

Heat is much easier to store than electricity, a fact that gives CSP a crucial -- maybe the crucial -- advantage over wind and solar photovoltaic's. Heating your water and providing your house with electricity are the two big things solar power can be used for. Using these two methods on your house will pay for themselves with the reduction of your electric bill. - 31812

Does The Make Natural Power Guide Actually Work?

By Tim McDonald

Over the past year a lot of diy energy guides have appeared on the internet, promising to teach even a complete technical newbie how to make their own home solar and wind power, and reduce their energy bills by up to 80%. One those guides happens to be Make Natural Power. But does it deliver what is promises? And is how does it stack up to the other guides?

The best thing about Make Natural Power is its cover. Everything beyond that was disappointing to say the least. Although it appears to have all the features of the the other guides, the information is very thin and not well-explained.

Good Aspects:

You will be able to build a solar and wind power system, but it will take you a very long time, unless you have great technical skills.

Dislikes

* Poor diagrams

The illustrations did not go well with the instructions. Label were missing, the scaling was out, and the pictures were just plain boring.

* Useless solar power

The instructions were not easy to follow, and the illustrations did not help either. Because of this, the reader is required to figure things out on their own, resulting in a useless solar panel system, if it ever get finished.

* Incomplete maintenance instructions

While I eventually got my wind generator to work, it ended up breaking after 2 months. This could have been prevented if I was given correct advice on how to effectively maintain the wind turbine.

* Customer support is really slow

A lot of the time we had to contact customer service for assistance. But they were very slow to respond, and by the time they did reply we had either forgotten what the problem or had figured it out ourselves. On average, it will take over 5 days to get the answers you need.

Conclusion

If you are willing to get a cheap knock-off of Earth4Energy, but for the same price, then by all means get the Make Natural Power guide. The book was terribly written, the instructions were confusing, and it was not a pleasant experience for me. - 31812

Solar Water Pumps

By Burt Randalls

Solar water pumps use solar force as an attractive option to bring water to remote homes, cabins or campgrounds. Some people have employed solar drip irrigation and pumping for gardens and homes. This technology has been around for decades, is efficient, and there are a number of government programs and utility incentives to use it.

Selecting solar pumps and solar panels to power them. Solar panels to power the water pumps are sold separately from the pumps. Both the pump and the amount of solar you need depend upon how much water you are trying to pump in a day (in GPD or GPM) and the vertical head the pump needs to overcome. Surface pumps can use suction to draw water vertically about 10-20 feet. However, once they have 'lifted' that relatively small amount, surface pumps can then 'push' water great distances.

Solar DIY is just one way to say do-it-yourself solar kit. You need particular parts to build a solar panel by yourself. You can build a solar panel by hand even if you do not take part in mechanical skills. A lot of people get scared at this point, because they do not have the right guidance. However, this can be as easy changing a light bulb once you have a little practice and understand the dynamics of how everything works.

Solar water pumps are cheap to build and cheap to power. And after the initial cost, there no one else to pay. Even uncle Sam says it good for your taxes.

Design concepts and the technical and economic feasibility of using solar energy to pump water are discussed in abstracts from worldwide literature. Topic areas cover the use of solar heat actuated Rankine cycle engines and free cylinder Stirling engines for solar powered water pumps, pumps driven by photovoltaic modules, and application of solar pumps to irrigation and electric power generation.

Solar water pumps do not require putting complicated connections to the utility grid. This is just another way to enjoy the benefits of solar power. Gas and diesel are vastly more expensive, which in turn, causes the price of electricity to increase as well. We also carry solar battery chargers that keep your Ni-Cads freshly charged, and even solar rechargeable flashlights. Charge by day; light up your world by night. It's perfect for charging in foreign countries and remote locations. The built-in LEDs let you know when it's charging, when it's full, and when it's supplying power to your phone. Solio is a Hybrid because it can accept power from either the sun or the wall storing this energy within Solio's internal rechargeable battery. Solio then uses this energy to power your gadgets at the same rate as your wall adapter.

Renewable solar electric power is when we use the sun's energy, instead of using Earth's resources, to make electricity. For many generations, we humans have been using nonrenewable energy sources, including nonrenewable electricity, and wasting our natural resources. Renewable energy and generating the power to supply my own home are concepts that have long interested me, especially, making solar panels at home. I found, however, that when I searched for ways to create my own power, the options available were just too pricey's systems available for purchase were not going to help me to save any money.

Or, if you had an incident similar to mine, at the very least, you can salvage the rechargeable battery. Charges button batteries for hearing aids, cameras, calculators, watches, games, etc. There are 20 million hearing impaired people in the USA and many use 2 batteries a day. Just plug this helpful 15-watt battery charger into your vehicle's 12-volt lighter socket and position the panel to pick up the most daylight possible. And with the built-in blocking diode technology, this charger is designed to protect against battery discharge at night.

Spoke to 12V shop in Perth .they have a similar product/price and reckon the 5 watt rating is ideal for trickle charging but that's about it which is OK because we have no need of anything else. Often, a solar battery charger is capable of recharging a variety of things including cell phones, gps, AA or AAA batteries, and laptops. The manual for the SBC-7112 solar PV charge regulator can be read by clicking on the link below.

For example, a charge controller would be recommended if the R15-1200 (with 1.2 Amps) were connected to a battery that is less than 120 Amp-hours. Consult the battery manufacturer for complete battery information and recommendations. I charged it up for half a day and it seemed to never want to die! I am sending back my original IPOD battery for recycling. After rummaging around in your glove compartment for a bit, you retrieve your solar-powered battery charger. You plug the USB cable from the charger into your cell phone, flip the charger over so that its small solar panel faces skyward, find your cell phone signal, place the whole setup on a stump, kick back and wait.

Electricity is a necessity and life will be quite hard without it. Electrons are released by the interaction of sunlight with semiconductor materials in PV cells and the electrons are captured in an electric current. The PV panels are connected to an inverter unit in your property that converts the resulting the direct current (DC) into alternating current (AC).

Electricity is a necessity and life will be quite hard without it. However, the fossil fuels are depleting and electricity is expensive. Electricity rates in the United States have risen 5.5% annually over the past twenty years and are continue to do so. When your home is solar powered you can dramatically cut and sometimes even eliminate your electric bill all together.

Generally it is accessed through the use of solar electric panels that can either be a free standing system or installed onto the roof and be positioned to attract the suns energy. There are also panels of peel and stick laminates that can be bought as a cheaper version. Generating electricity and heating water use the sun's energy in different ways. Generally, when it comes to written articles, that time is estimated to be about one minute. However, it is literally cut in half when it comes to video. - 31812

Is Homemade Energy A Scam?

By Tim McDonald

Homemade Energy - a guide written by Bill Ford, a scientist, researcher and energy consultant - claims that it can show you how to build your own working home solar and wind power generators, even if you have never picked up a tool in your life before. So does it really work? And are the instructions as easy to follow as they claim to be? We put bought it, put it to the test and saw how it compared to Earth4Energy.

The Advantages of the guide:

1 - The project was fun:

The plans for the home wind turbine were really easy to follow. They were detailed enough and laid out intuitively. This made a fun project to complete with few glitches along the way. What's more is the end result was that we had a professional looking wind turbine that really worked.

2 - Cheapest option

Homemade Energy is the cheapest guide out there. Okay, it is only $2 cheaper than say, Earth4Energy, but every dollar helps when you are trying to save on costs.

3 - Easy for anyone to follow:

It was very apparent to us that Bill Ford wanted to produce a guide that anyone could follow, since it was so easy to understand. Thought we did have a small problem with the diagrams, we still ended up with a working wind turbine.

Dislikes

1 - Lacks features

At only around 43 pages long, this guide lacks that extra information and detail. Perhaps you could argue that it is to the point, however, when compared to Earth4Energy, we would rather spend that extra $2 to get that additional info.

2 - Becoming a little outdated:

We're not sure about other users, but we occasionally struggled to follow the solar power plans easily. The diagrams did not quite flow with the instructions and we had to contact support numerous times for assistance when building the solar panels. Although they were very helpful, they never decided to pass on that knowledge to everyone by updating their guide with the additional solar panel information. Bill Ford offers free lifetime updates, but what good is that if he never revises his guide?

Conclusion:

Homemade Energy is by and large a an energy guide for beginners, that have the patience to learn while doing, which is vital for any diy plans. However, Bill needs to keep up to date with his competitors, such as Earth4Energy and Efficient Planet, and offer more value for his customers. This includes updating his solar power plans, and perhaps offering video instruction too. - 31812

Alternative Energy From The Sun In US

By Joe Maxwell

With gradual depletion of fossil fuels many people understand they have to find an alternative. They are looking for new sources of energy. They are stimulated also by always higher and higher price of the supplied energy connected with lack of the original sources. One of the most important new sources of energy is solar power. It is free and in many areas of US it is in abundance. We can use solar energy by special gadgets and turn it into electricity.

With solar power, you will no longer have to worry about electricity once you've installed the solar power system. Aside from that, you will get clean and renewable energy. When you install a solar power system, you're able to hit two birds with one stone - you're able to save the earth and you can save a lot of money in the coming years. The system can last for about twenty years and that's like a lifetime already. With proper care and maintenance, the system might reach thirty years of service.

In the US, solar power is gaining popularity. Years ago, it would have been impossible to use solar power in homes because it was too expensive. But thanks to modern technology, many homeowners in the US as well as businesses now make use of solar energy. Power bills can surely be reduced thereby saving the environment and the pockets of homeowners or businesspersons.

Many parts of US have abundance of sunlight, e.g. Los Angeles, California. In presence there are so many solar power systems already available. Why then are so rare still these systems in practice? Exploitation of solar energy is still at the very beginning. For higher output we need bigger panels. And big panels dont look nice at the garden or in roof of a house. And we suppose also that the solar panels are also very expensive, over $35,000 for a normal house.

Scientists are still conducting researches and at present, solar power is said to be more efficient now unlike many years ago. Drastic changes were made thereby improving the solar panel's price and appearance. With the invention of the photovoltaic cells, solar power was greatly improved. The cells will be placed on steel substrate to capture sunlight and the energy will be stored within the battery. The photovoltaic panels contain n layers of cells thereby increasing its efficiency. These new panels make use of the 'amorphous silicon thin alloy technology'. Through this technology, the cells are not bulky anymore and highly efficient. With stylish photovoltaic panels, your house or office will still look pleasant to eye with the panel on top.

Aside from the cell, photovoltaic shingles were also invented. Basically, the shingles modified solar panels. If you don't want to use bulky solar panels, this is an excellent choice because of its aesthetic and convenient design. The photovoltaic shingles look like ordinary shingles and are colored black.

The photovoltaic cells and shingles have definitely enhanced the solar power technology. Who knows? Perhaps in the future, experts and scientists will develop smaller cells, panels, etc. Check out LA and see the solar powered homes there. You can now start calculating your home's electrical requirements so that you can determine the right size of the power system. Start with a small project and work your way up but if you can afford to pay for readymade ones, go ahead. - 31812

Solar Power - Some Useful Information That You Ought To Be Aware Of

By Dan Westwood

Solar energy is a fantastic way to produce energy for free, at the same time as being entirely clean for the environment. Having been around for quite some time, technology has also improved to make it a more practical opportunity. Solar energy is now something that loads of individuals ought to deliberate.

Evidently, to a degree, it does depend on where you live. There is not a great deal of pointing getting a solar energy plant at your home if you do not get an ample quantity of sunlight. Nonetheless, places which do not get an adequate enough quantity of sunlight are few and far between, so you must do your research before removing it out.

If you want to partly power your home with solar power, then there are lots of options offered to you. In the event that money is of a major concern, then you might want to consider obtaining one of the DIY kits. These are becoming fairly popular and they are not as difficult to get to grips with as you may think. In fact, you possibly will even find the process to a certain extent fun.

It would be a wholly dishonest statement to say that purchasing solar panel kits is cheap. Indeed it is pretty pricey, however the amount of money you can save in the longer term makes it worth it in almost every case. Certainly, it does depend slightly on where you live and you need to be sure that you have the compulsory average quantity of sunlight.

The sum of money you might save on your electricity bills can be highly advantageous. As you are no doubt well aware, your electricity bills always go up as the cost of energy continues to increase. Making use of solar energy could provide enough power to perform all sorts of basic daily tasks in your house, noticeably lowering your electricity bill.

This is a great idea if you are more DIY orientated, in addition to wanting to save money. You get the best of both worlds, as you will get a have something fully customised and ideal for your circumstances and you will get save money as well on your electricity bills.

As environmentally friendly and renewable forms of energy become more and more important every year, it is important that more individuals start looking towards them as a workable alternative. However, until recently, many of these alternatives have been prohibitively dear. Things are really not the same now, and things are getting more and more accessible and hassle-free to install so it is worth looking into again. - 31812

Find Your Way To Solar Power

By Joe Maxwell

It came time we understand that we cannot follow the former ways of handling of energy sources. The fossil fuels are nearly fully depleted, prices of supplied energy are steeply going up and we have to look for alternative sources of energy. One of the most affordable is solar power. We can use energy of sun radiation and transform it to electricity via special gadget.

Solar power is clean and renewable energy. When we will start using it in our homes, there will be no extra expenses. After the installment of solar system for at least 30 years we will be supplied by free electricity and heat. Isnt it a dream of every homeowner? The solar power will save our money and we will help the world to stop global warming process too.

As in the whole world US can exploit the newest advantages of technical developments. These made the solar energy affordable for everyone. More and more businesses and homes use solar panels to get free and clean energy. So they can drastically cut their bills and they can be cheered also by a good feeling they are involved in the environment protection.

Some places in the US enjoy a lot of sunlight particularly Los Angeles California. There are so many solar power systems available today and solar panels are just one of them. Despite the many benefits of solar power, have you ever wondered why very few people use it? At this point, experts claim that solar power is still inefficient. To generate more electricity, then larger solar panels are needed which are quite bulky. Just imagine putting a large and ugly panel on your rooftop which can destroy your home's overall beauty? Ready made solar panels are quite costly that ranges from $35,000 - $250,000 depending on the size.

Meantime the scientific progress went on and brought us great looking, very efficient and much cheaper technology. The old bulky solar panels were replaced by new ones based on new technology exploiting amorphous silicon thin alloy. Photovoltaic panels are composed of layers of photovoltaic cells and base of every cell is the silicon layer. Thanks to that we have small, stylish and very efficient and whats more, also much cheaper solar panels.

The new invention of photovoltaic cells enabled the production of photovoltaic shingles. They are great choice for everybody who doesnt want to use classical solar panels. Solar shingles look as normal as ordinary shingles instead they are black.

Photovoltaic technology - cells and shingles - is the last word of the science. Its for sure there will be new technologies in future invented and we will have still smaller panels available or new gadgets. Already now we have clean and long lasting source energy. There are many houses in LA using photovoltaic cells to supply all needs of electricity. There is an assumption that in this region will be about 10% electricity produced by sunlight. You can calculate also for your home the size of panels or shingles. You can buy a professional readymade system or to build it by yourself. The second option is 10 times cheaper. There will be always new technologies in front of us. However we cannot to wait any longer. The power of the sun is already fully at our disposal. - 31812

Home Wind Turbine Design Uncovered

By Tim McDonald

Back in the day if you thought about a home wind turbine, what would have come to mind is a large tower with enormous white blades spinning rather slowly. But, with the development in technology and the need for more and more people to become energy efficient, small residential wind turbines can now be erected at home. Even better news for green enthusiasts is the ability to make their home wind turbine, without spending thousands of dollars on contractors.

How a home wind turbine works

In a nutshell, a home wind turbine generates electricity by turning a motor. The motor is placed in the hub, on which three or five rotors are mounted, and then placed on top of a long tower. For the blades to spin effectively, they need to be facing the wind at all times, so either a tail (similar to a weather vain) or an electronic guidance system is used.

The generator is basically an electric motor. As the coils in the motor spin past the magnets, an electric current is produced. The power produced is stored in batteries, which are connected to an inverter to change the direct current to alternating current, which can then be used to power your home. The advancement of motor efficiency, is the reason wind turbines have become so popular for home use.

The tower's main purpose is to hold the blades high up in the sky, to catch those stronger winds. It windy areas, it can be slightly shorter, and in calmer regions, the tower will be taller.

With more money being put into research, the blades have changed drastically over the years. The rotors generally have 3 instead in of 5 blades now, since the blades have become lighter, stronger, and able to spin in very light breezes. The blades also come an assortment of diameters, according to the average wind speeds and energy needs.

What I have been describing so far is the average horizontal wind turbine. But you also get a vertical axis wind turbine (VAWT), with large water-wheel type blades that spin on a vertical axis. The VAWT is not ideal for residential homeowners or small business since the blades spin close to the ground and are not capable of catching the stronger, high-altitude winds. Another concern is the amount of bird and bat fatalities caused by these large, blades that are difficult to see when spinning at full throttle.

Before going out and installing a wind turbine, it is best to ask yourself the following questions:

How big is the property?

Wind turbines generally operate better in large areas that cover an acre. This is because wind flow is not deflected by any nearby buildings.

How windy is it where you live?

Ideal wind conditions should be at least 11 mph, but otherwise a taller tower with larger blades will help to catch the high-altitude winds.

Other uses for the wind turbine:

If you could use the turbine for other purposes, such as pumping in water from outside, then it may be more useful than you think. This is the reason you see so many windmills scattered over farms - they help pump water from reservoirs to the farmhouse.

Does my house need a constant power supply?

This is why so many people want to get a small wind turbine in the first place - to keep the house powered during blackouts, and prevent economic losses. Although the wind turbine may not power the house all the time, it's stored power can be used in emergencies, when the utilities are just not enough.

Taking the above points into consideration will help you determine how much power you require, the length of tower needed, the diameter of the blades, and the benefits and costs of using a home wind turbine.

The good news is that technology is forever evolving. The motors have become so light and efficient that they can be used in a number of smaller wind turbines attached right to your roof, instead of having to rely on one large wind turbine.

Although professional home wind turbines can run into several thousands of dollars, it is possible to make your own for a tenth of the price, with components found at home and your local hardware store. Furthermore, the U.S. offers both state and federal tax credits that you can use to offset the installation cost. So not only will you reduce your electricity bill, but also your tax at the same time. - 31812

The Technology of Indoor Solar Lighting

By Steve Schafer

How much do you know about solar lighting? Most people don't realize that it can be used both indoors and out. While many of us may not have considered using solar power to provide indoor lighting, it is becoming a growing trend world wide. It is a great way to save both money and energy.

Although history records the use of solar power as far back as the 7th century BC, indoor solar lighting technology is still in its infancy. In the United States, however it is being used to light small buildings in parks and other locations as well as for more industrial applications. These locations are ideal due to their lack of close proximity to sources of conventional electricity. A small number of commercial buildings in America have also installed solar lighting and we are seeing more every day.

Most of the indoor solar lighting in industrial use today is a mixture of solar light tube and solar powered light technology. Combinations of solar powered lighting and light tube technology are being used in high security applications like prisons. Solar light tubes are perfectly suited for this application, due to their ability to transfer considerable amounts of light to the interior of the structure using a very small footprint. This "hybrid" lighting method of combining solar powered lights as a back up to these light tubes produces a solar lighting system that is extremely efficient and effective.

There are actually many uses for indoor solar lights; like lighting up your garage, shed or gazebo - not to mention the inside of your home. The fact that you don't need an electrical source is a big advantage. All you need is a direct source of sunlight. No worrying about light bulbs or power outages. Indoor solar light installation is usually fairly easy and requires little if any maintenance and upkeep.

Some buildings on your property may be located far away from the main dwelling, making it expensive to provide electricity for even a single bulb. Indoor solar lighting is a great way to solve that problem swiftly and in most cases at very little cost. You can use them in your home as well, in the form of solar track lights or solar skylights.

With so many applications currently being made available, indoor solar lighting is showing a rapid increase in popularity. Peruse your local hardware store and you are sure to find lots of these "green" lighting products. As the technology becomes more advanced, more applications will be discovered for indoor solar lighting. The best part is that with the addition of indoor solar lights to your project, you will be saving money and the environment! - 31812

Solar Heating An Efficient And Cost Saving For Our Daily Energy Needs

By Sam Mathew

Today, more and more people have become concerned about the raising cost of energy and about the lack of resources. Most people have realized that it is essential to start using alternative sources of energy to protect our planet from a negative future.

The solutions which we are waiting for can be obtained by different options to generate energy. Solar system heating is likely to be one of the most used around the world. However, there are still many persons who do not know many details about this system but they must learn that it can be our main source of energy in the future. Sun can provide us with all the energy we need to make our industries and homes function properly. This means that sun is an endless source of energy.

The energy obtained from the sun is a fantastic reality that we can enjoy thanks to advanced technology. The energy called solar power is the one obtained from the sun and it is useful to provide electricity. Naturally, this energy is powerful enough to cover electricity needs of all the inhabitants on the Earth. Therefore, solar power is likely to be the solution for the worldwide energy problems.

After performing a great amount of tests, experts have created several options to take advantage of energy from sun. One of these technologies is called passive solar energy. We use passive solar energy to dry our clothes in open air. On the contrary, active solar energy is the one which has been converted into electricity.

If you are interested in having a solar home heating system at home, you must consider solar panels. The equipment to install solar system at home may be a little bit expensive buy it is one time investment. But then, you will be able to save money by using solar power.

On the contrary, if you have some building skills, you can build your own solar heating system. If you decide to buy readymade panels, you will spend about $3000. If you build them, and the costs will lower up to $500. Firstly, it is necessary to get solar cells and an appropriate semiconductor on the cells surface. They will be the right elements to collect the light of the sun. Semiconductors are usually made of silicon.

Solar heating system also contain other components, so you will be ready to buy some other elements to finish and install it. There, you will also find professional advice in order to build it properly and without any risk. - 31812

Solar Heating System - The Future Energy Miracle

By Dane D. Henry

Many people are looking into alternative energy options to find other possibilities to generate it. So, people from all over the world have understood that it is necessary to find an urgent solution for these problems.

The solutions which we are waiting for can be obtained by different options to generate energy. Solar system heating is likely to be one of the most used around the world. However, there are still many persons who do not know many details about this system but they must learn that it can be our main source of energy in the future. The amount of solar energy that our planet receives per day is enough to supply human beings demand of energy for one year. So, we can say that sun energy is endless.

Energy obtained from the sun is a marvelous reality that everybody can enjoy nowadays. The energy called solar power is the one obtained from the sun and it is useful to provide electricity. Naturally, this energy is powerful enough to cover electricity needs of all the inhabitants on the Earth. Therefore, solar power is likely to be the solution for the worldwide energy problems.

Scientists have discovered a collection of techniques to use solar energy. Passive solar energy is often used in every home around the world. Passive solar energy is the one people may use to heat water or dry clothes. Today, active solar energy is the most useful because it is the solar energy which is directly transformed into electricity.

If you are interested in having a solar home heating system at home, you must consider solar panels. If you hire a company to install a solar home heating system, you should pay an important amount of money. But then, you will be able to save money by using solar power.

It is possible to build your own solar heating system but you will need to have more tan basic technical knowledge because you must also decide what elements are necessary to buy. If you buy readymade solar panels, they can cost about $3000. The total cost for the solar panels will be $500, if you create them. Solar cells and a semiconductor are two basic elements necessary to build your solar heating system. The light will be collected there. Most semiconductors are made of silicon.

Apart from these two main elements, to build your own solar heating system, you will need other items, which can be purchased in some specific stores. If you go to the appropriate store, you will find help. - 31812

Why Wind Energy Outshines other Alternative Fuels

By Dale Green

Wind has a definite advantage over many other types of energy - abundance. Renewable, unlike fossil fuels, they will guarantee our future generations that their source of power will never be threatened, become sparse or disappear.

We are all familiar with how this generation became affected because of the gas shortages and the rising of the prices of fuel. Using wind power, this crisis should never be repeated and even with economic crisis that is shaking the world today, the fuel prices will not be as high despite growing competitions. Now that wind power can be generated for the needed fuels, the crisis will be controlled.

Competition against the fossil fuel generation is already taking place and many wind energy bids are being won, able to prove that increased fuel costs just are not in their future equation. Once the initial equipment is in place, the costs remain steady. What a great feeling.

Having wind energy as the source of fuel and power, people will be able to breathe easily because of economic freedom and environmental safety. The operation of wind power will never contribute pollutants to the environment ,which causes air contamination that affects the health of most people all over the world. The air we breathe will be as clean as it was from the beginning.

A variety of applications available through wind power continue to grow. Powering homes, businesses and farms, wind can also provide energy to remote areas, pump water and power telecommunication sites. In just a few years, there will be no excuse for anyone in the world to be without needed power.

Unlike the conventional plants that use large amount of water to cool plants when generating their power from fossil and nuclear fuels, the wind turbine never needed fresh water in its operations. All this water can be used by people for better purposes.

Now that wind power is being operated in the rural areas, the urban areas are also benefitting from this because some utility grids are now operating in many regions, giving the urban areas their supply of energy at affordable prices. None of them were harmed by the rotating turbines.

But for all of the reason listed above, public support ranks at the top of the list. People are tired of the games with everyday living expenses and want options that are simple, well defined and cost effective. Wind generation supplies this and much more. Maintenance will not be as high or nearly as complicated, it is a source of energy that does not have to relied upon by a worldwide cartel and national security will be much more controllable with everything being homegrown and kept at home. Wind power as we know it today is probably just the tip of the iceberg in what technology will come up with for wind tomorrow but one thing is for sure-wind energy is here to stay. - 31812

Eco-Technology - What's It Good For?

By Megan S Jones

It's easy to argue that responsibility for many of the world's biggest problems can be laid at the door of modern industrial technology. That's because there is abundant evidence for it: cars, planes, electrically powered devices of every kind and massive amounts of transportation. The net result has been depletion of the earth's precious resources and pollution on an unprecedented level.

When it comes to the fuel that powers these modern technologies there is an even more depressing legacy. Our energy source of choice is the burning of fossil fuel, in other words oil, coal and gas. However there is now rather less fuel left than has already been burned and what has already been burned has raised levels of atmospheric CO2 to record levels. We're caught on the horns of a twin dilemma.

So we're filling up at the Last Chance Gas Station and will soon be running on fumes, waiting for the inevitable breakdown and long walk back. It would be ironic if the final blow was delivered by our own modern transport network in the form of some especially virulent worldwide pandemic.

But is this really how our world ends? And is technology really the evil root of it all? Well probably not. This won't be the first time that humanity has had to face up to the painful consequences of some pretty dumb (in hindsight) behaviour. Yet we're still here.

Fundamentally, technology and humans go together; you never find one without evidence of the other. Technology is in our DNA and no matter how far back in time you look, whenever human remains are found, invariably there are technological artifacts nearby.

Since the dawn of human history it seems we have made weapons and tools, worn decorations and clothing, preserved and prepared food, painted and played music. Unique among all other animals we really for our survival not on thick fur or powerful claws, but on our capability to develop and deploy technology.

Whoever first painted animal shapes on a cave wall set us inexorably on the path to writing, printing, and now digital telecommunication. That first flint spear head was destined to lead eventually to nuclear armaments, just as Beethoven's Ninth Symphony would not have been possible had someone not thought to hollow out a small animal bone to make a simple flute.

There has never once been a time when human technological evolution ceased in its quest to adapt and improve. Ironically this is often because the failings of an earlier technology become all too apparent. Our modern sewage systems and clean flushing toilets owe their origins to the success of the steam technology that drove the Industrial Revolution, thereby creating urban crowding and rampant disease from contaminated water supplies.

So we can be assured then that even if technology is indeed to blame for the current sorry state of affairs, it is still the only means we have to fix things again. Reverting back to some "Golden Age" before modern technology is a naive and dangerous idea; the solution lies in developing better eco-technologies (e.g. extend use of the internet and embrace high efficiency solar energy and low power consumption light emitting diodes).

These new eco-technologies are far less resource hungry and polluting and can help reduce the huge amount of travelling that goes on these days, while simultaneously actually improving the quality of life and offering increased choice. Doubtless we will some day discover that they too are flawed in some as yet unimagined way, but that's alright, we know what to do about that. - 31812

You Can Save Your Green With Alternative Power Sources By Creating Free Energy In Your Home

By Letty Barnette

What would you do if you figured out a way to have energy in your home and not have to spend your money for it?

With the economy being down spending less and saving more is what we all want.

I will never forget growing up my mom would hang clothes on the clothes line on nice days when the sun was out.

When my mother did that I thought she was a genious. As a result of mom's action the electric bill was reduced. Mother used a simple line for hanging clothes and the pins that kept the clothes on the line. The clothes were nice and air dried and had a pleasant outdoor fresh aroma once they were taken off of the line.

The clothes were safe to wear and were dried to perfection; almost better than what the actual dryer that sat in the basement would have done. What my mom did as many other mothers also did was create a system that produced free electricity to drying clothes.

Letting the clothes hang on the clothes line during a warm summer's day gave birth to what is now referred to as self-sufficient alternative power sources. Reasons to make your home a unit that receives free electrical power can be numerous. Cost savings should be at the top of the list.

Your mother and my mother discovered a way to get the clothes dry at no cost; and there is also a way to provide electric in your home for free. An energy generator that provides free power can be constructed with the use of a simple battery and magnets without renewable or non-renewable sources.

There is a way to use materials such as magnets and a battery to develop a harmless machine that can produce an electric free generation of power throughout your home without having to use sources like coal, heat or water.

Would you like to find out how to use self-sufficient alternative power sources with magnets and batteries that will provide your home free power. To find out about this visit http://www.alternativeenergymanagement.blogspot.com - 31812

The Make Natural Power Guide Reviewed

By Tim McDonald

Over the past year a lot of diy energy guides have appeared on the internet, promising to teach even a complete technical newbie how to make their own home solar and wind power, and reduce their energy bills by up to 80%. One those guides happens to be Make Natural Power. But does it deliver what is promises? And is how does it stack up to the other guides?

The only thing I liked about Make Natural Power was its cover. Everything else was completely useless. On the outside it looked like it had all the features, but the advice was very limited and not that helpful.

Likes:

I have that the one positive I got out this guide is that it is possible to build a home solar power and wind turbine system, but only if you have previous diy experience and know a lot about things such as wiring, using various tools and material, and fixing things properly to your roof.

Why it disappointed us:

* Poor diagrams

The drawings were very poor. They were dull, incorrectly labeled, and not even scaled down properly.

* Useless solar power

Since the diagrams and instructions were difficult to follow, the reader has to make too many assumptions resulting in a low-quality solar panel, if any at all.

* Poor maintenance advice

We eventually did get our windmill to work, however, since the maintenance instructions were so incomplete, our wind turbine only managed to last 2 months, until it finally seized. It turns out they forgot to tell us how to make the windmill weather-proof.

* Customer support is really slow

Many times during the build we need help from customer support. But it took forever for them to reply, so when we did get a response, we had already solves the issue on our own, or we had completely forgotten why we had contacted them. Generally it will take you 5 days to get any help from them.

Conclusion

Make Natural Power at home was obviously created by someone trying to copy Earth4Energy, and it shows in the guide. It was badly written, incomplete, and an absolute waste of our time. - 31812

My Review Of Efficient Planet

By Tim McDonald

Introduction

The Efficient Planet guide is not just one book, it's 3! With 71 pages on how to build a home solar power system, 51 pages on how to build a home wind turbine, and another 50 pages on how to enjoy efficient living at home, this is one comprehensive set of instructions! It almost hit our #1 spot, over-taking Earth4Energy, but its lack of video instruction put it at #2.

What we like about it:

1 - Comprehensive Instructions

Efficient planet just became the most comprehensive DIY energy guide on the market. With over 175 pages of fantastic step-by-step instructions and advice that are easy to follow, it is well worth the small price tag of $49.97.

2 - Additional free gifts

When you buy the Efficient Planet guide, not only do you get the plans on how to make your own home solar and wind power system, but also a number of free extras. This is includes a 50 page manual on how to easily save energy at home; and video and audio interviews with other diy fanatics that make their own power at home too.

It also comes with some useful, but irrelevant extras, such as a 12 part study kit on efficiently running your own home business; and some other "undisclosed bonuses".

3 - Instructions That Actually Work:

A nice feature of the guide, is that it is broken up into 3 parts:

The first one is devoted to teaching you about solar power and how to make your own solar panels at home. But it also goes on to discuss the various types of solar you can employ at home, including solar heating, and solar roofing.

The second volume focuses on wind power and how to build a home wind turbine. It also exposes 10 common myths about wind power, by giving you the cold, hard facts.

The third book explains a variety of clever ways to become more energy efficient without sacrificing your quality of living. Although most of the tips we already knew, some of them we didn't. But it really rounded off the whole Efficient Planet package, and helped it achieve it purpose of showing you how to save power and money at home.

Why it is not the best guide:

1: Lack Of Video Tutorials

Just when we thought Efficient Planet was the best energy guide on the market, we realized it has absolutely no video instruction. Many people that are technology inclined will struggle to just follow the written plans and diagram to build their first solar or wind power system. It would have been so much easier if we could watch it being built step-by-step.

2: Nothing really unique about it

Efficient Planet is just another diy energy guide. There seems to be a new one cropping almost weekly. And at the end of the day, it gives you the same info as other energy guides, but said in a different way. We like the fact that the Efficient Planet authors realized this and gave a number of great bonuses to complement the product, which made better value for money.

Conclusion:

Efficient Planet provides some of the most complete, and useful step-by-step instructions on making your own renewable energy and saving power at home. Yes, you will eventually build a working solar and wind power system with the plans, but it will take you a little longer than if you used the Earth4Energy guide (which has free video instruction). The free extras make it well worth the $49.97 price, so it comes in 2nd place. - 31812

Solar Energy & Wind Energy Can Help Reduce Your Bills and Help the Environment.

By Chris Ulrich

Solar energy has been mentioned for years, and has gained strength in current years. Many solar energy systems are far more efficient than their predecessors, and over the last several years the price has come down significantly. More effective systems have been designed, are becoming cheaper to manufacture and allow you to save more electric at a lower cost.

Wind is also picking up speed (pardon the pun) in the green energy market. While countries in Europe have utilized wind energy for more than 95 years, practical use to generate electricity here in the states has certainly gained tremendous attention in the last few years. The new devices constructed specifically for home users that may control the power of wind and generate electricity directly into your house.

To take advantage of green energy, you do need to be a homeowner. If you are renting an apartment or renting a home, it does not make sense for you to put in a solar energy system. If you are even allowed to bring one in, you will not come close recovering costs connected with that system.

For homeowners, the results can be wonderful. First, when you set-up green energy (whether wind or solar) it will raise the worth of your home greatly. In this hard real estate market, it may make the difference between selling your house and not selling your home. Because most homes are not yet equipped with green energy, those that are equipped are in high demand.

Solar power systems (also called solar energy systems) operate with solar panels to acquire the beams of the sun. Technically, they reflect the rays of the sun, and in doing so discharge electrons. Those electrons are then captured and used as electricity. More electrons to capture, the greater power you produce.

Most people will still be affiliated to the utility company for electricity. Solar energy will not generate at night and wind energy does not work when there is no wind. Therefore, you do maintain your connection to the power grid for additional electricity. This actually works to your advantage: utilities will definitely purchase electricity back from you when you have more than you can utilize. For example, if you are out of your home for the day and turn off all of your electronics, lights and other devices, your electricity usage in the home will be very low (you will of course leave your fridge connected). While you are out, you're solar and/or wind systems continue producing electricity. If you are not there to use it, it can be pumped back into the power grid and can be used by your neighbors!

As you do this, the electricity company reimburses you for the electric that you sent into the power grid-generally at the same rate as they would charge you! It's a great phenomenon to watch when you step outside your home, look at your power meter, and see it turn backwards!

Getting started with solar and wind is an easy process. However, you will need to do your homework and speak with an expert. Be sure you get all the details before you start and, as with any other major purchase, make sure you are working with someone reputable. - 31812
